ME Dubai, the most anticipated luxury hotel now open

The property will feature designer furniture in the lobby, lounges and reception areas, all of which have been personally designed or selected by Zaha Hadid.

Dubai’s most anticipated luxury hotel has opened its doors to travelers. Designed by the late world-renowned architect Dame Zaha Hadid, ME Dubai will take up residence in the Opus by Omniyat building, located in the heart of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa district – the latest outstanding addition to Dubai’s iconic skyline.

This is the first and last hotel where the Iraqi-British architect designed both the exterior and interior of the hotel, making ME Dubai his heritage project. Hadid was famous for its intensely futuristic architecture, characterized by curves, sharp angles and bold materials and the ME Dubai hotel is no exception.

The hotel has 74 rooms and 19 suites (including the Passion Suite, the Personality Suite, the Vibe Room and the very luxurious “ME Suite”). With impressive originality, Hadid’s design reinvents the balance between full and empty, opaque and transparent, inside and out. The Opus itself spans 2,000,000 square feet, comprising two separate towers that connect in the form of a cube and showcase a central “sculpted” void, which appears to hover above the ground. The center of the building offers unexpected and spectacular views to the outside. During the day, The Opus is a luminous surface, reflecting the dazzling Dubai sun, with LED lighting emphasizing the building’s lively character in the evening.

The property will feature designer furniture in the lobby, lounges and reception areas, all of which have been personally designed or selected by Zaha Hadid. Customers and visitors can choose from three F&B outlets, including Central, the Refuel and Relax Pool Bar and The Opus Studio. In addition, the Opus building will offer 15 F&B outlets including ROKA, the contemporary Japanese restaurant robatayaki, as well as the MAINE Land Brasserie. ME Dubai’s spa offers guests the ultimate relaxation retreat, offering a variety of luxurious spa treatments to unwind as an individual or as a couple.

Welcoming bookings from March 1, ME Dubai will act as a platform for contemporary Middle Eastern culture, bringing together music, art, design, fashion and food in curated experiences that celebrate the latest trends, events and scene leaders shaping the local cultural landscape. With properties located in cultural capitals around the world, ME by Meliá creates a unique bond with the communities in which it operates.

As the brand’s first property in the Middle East, ME Dubai is not only fast becoming the social and cultural epicenter of Dubai, but also a contemporary luxury hotel with a tangible commitment to sustainability. The property aims to raise the bar for sustainable practices for hotel operations in the city in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021, to be one of the leading countries in the world to prioritize evolving sustainability while preserving the environment .

Initiatives in hotel operations include partnering with United Arab Emirates-based company “No More Bottles” to install world-class drinking water filtration systems throughout the hotel. All rooms will be supplied with pure, filtered water in glass bottles, demonstrating ME Dubai’s commitment to being completely plastic-free and reducing its carbon footprint.
