Tommy Fury was denied entry to the United States by Homeland Security

Tommy Fury has revealed he was denied entry to the United States where he was due to preview his upcoming fight against Jake Paul.

The 23-year-old half-brother of Tyson Fury is set to face YouTube celebrity Paul on August 6 after their initial fight was called off last year.

Fury posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday, recorded on Monday evening, where he explained the situation – saying he had “no idea” why his application to enter the United States was rejected.

“So I just want to come here and set the record straight before someone else tries to do it, my team and I arrived at Heathrow airport this morning ready for the conference releases, ready to take off,” he said.

“As soon as I walked into the airport I was pulled to one side and a Homeland Security agent who was there told me that my ESTA had been denied and that I had not been able to travel to the United States for some reason I apparently knew about.

“I can stand here and say I did absolutely nothing wrong and I have no idea why I’m not cleared to travel to the United States.

“I’ve been training for one fight all this time and that’s all I’ve done. I have no idea why they won’t allow me to travel today, and neither will any of my team or my lawyers.

“So now I have to go to embassies and all that stuff and try to figure it out and I’m in the middle of training guys I don’t know why this happened today – it’s a huge shock for me and my whole team.

“Obviously it’s a matter that needs to be resolved, it’s government issues, it’s a lot bigger than the fight right now and I’m trying to sort it out, but I just wanted to let you know where it’s at. was.”

The issue casts doubt on the rescheduled fight, scheduled for Madison Square Garden in August, after a rib injury saw Fury pull out of their scheduled bout last December.

It was claimed earlier this month that Tyson Fury had also been denied access to the United States over alleged links to US crime boss Daniel Kinahan, although the WBC world heavyweight champion has moved away from these links.

Meanwhile, Paul took to Twitter to continue his spat with Fury, writing, “Tommy no matter how hard you try to get out of this fight I’m gonna 2 do everything in my power 2 don’t don’t let you snoop your way out. My team and partners have clearly outlined the steps to solve your latest excuse. Take them or admit you’re a scared little bitch. #TommyFumbles.”
